Dr. Michael P. McGough, a native of eastern Ohio, graduated from The National University of Health Sciences in the Chicago-land area in 2004.Prior to attending chiropractic school, Dr. McGough attended Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. While completing his undergraduate program, he worked at a chiropractic office in St. Clairsville, Ohio as an assistant. This is where he saw the benefits of chiropractic care and its ability to heal the human body naturally.
While earning his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree, Dr. McGough worked as a personal trainer at Bally Total Fitness in downtown Chicago. He concentrated not only on overall fitness but also on physical rehabilitation for patients and clients with specific debilitating injuries. He also worked at the University as a teacher’s assistant in the gross anatomy lab spending extensive time studying the human body’s neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems. Upon graduating, Dr. McGough worked as a chiropractor at Capital City Chiropractic in Worthington, Ohio from 2004 to 2007. In December 2007, he purchased Amerihealth Chiropractic. Then in December 2012 changed name to AcuHealth chiropractic & wellness center.
At AcuHealth Chiropractic, Dr. McGough has been able to help people by using a variety of different services. He uses gentle manual techniques including Diversified, Thompson Drop and Cox Techniques. Dr. McGough also uses a state of the art computerized ProAdjuster. The ProAdjuster uses gentle mechanical tapping on the spinal joints allowing them to move freely and reach full range of motion. The ProAdjuster is a great tool for everyone especially for those who do not like standard manual adjustments.
And continues to offer Medical Acupuncture. Dr. McGough received his certification under Dr. John Amaro D.C. from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture in May 2008. He has met all required prerequisites under Ohio Law to legally institute the practice of acupuncture in his office.
